Shared Foundations: Affordable Housing Education & Resources
Educational resources for municipal commissions and committees as well as individuals looking for information on a specific housing topic or housing data for a town in the RiverCOG region. Shared Foundations hosts lesson plans, online learning modules, fact sheets, and other associated materials to help land use commissions understand and work through common challenges when discussing housing.
Regional Housing Committee
The Regional Housing Committee (RHC) is an advisory committee of the Lower Connecticut River Valley Council of Governments. It was created following the adoption of the first Regional Housing Plan which recognized the need for better coordination and communication on housing issues across the region’s 17 municipalities.
Regional Housing Plan
The Lower Connecticut River Valley Region adopted its first Regional Housing Plan in 2022. The plan looks at housing demographics and outlines goals for healthy, sustainable, resilient housing in the region. This plan won the CT Chapter of the American Planning Association's Best Regional Housing Plan award.
CT COG Summary of Special Session Public Act 25-1
The Housing Working Group of the CT COGs has created a document summarizing the housing law passed in 2025 Special Session (formerly known as HB8002). This document analyzes sections of the bill that affect COGs and municipalities and lists out required and optional elements of the law.
